Then, create a new partition using all of sdb as /home and that's where your data will go. The original configuration, RAID0, gives more speed (good for poky ol' Windoze), but less reliability.

I'm not exactly new to linux, but still have a lot to learn. I tried reading the Persistent block device naming article but couldn't really figure out what to do in my situation. first device ==> internal HDD (linux gets /dev/sda) second device ==> internal SDD (linux gets /dev/sdb) third device ==> drive bay in docking station (linux gets /dev/sdc if an HDD) IMPORTANT -- I hope that there is some way to configure linux such that the SDD appears as /dev/sda and the HDD appears as /dev/sdb.
